Body Sugaring (a process similar to waxing) is a safe, gentle and truly progressive method of hair removal for all parts of the body. It is effective on all skin types and hair textures for both men and women. The earliest references of sugaring as hair removal came from the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece. Early writings out of Mesopotamia tell of kings asking that women be brought to them clean and smooth, i.e. hairless. Egyptian hieroglyphics describe how slave girls serving the Pharaoh were expected to remove all of their body hair. Hair on the body was considered unclean by the upper class. Today, both men and women use sugaring to achieve a smooth, clean and fresh look.

"SUGARING" is the application of a natural, sugar-based paste (sugar, lemon, water and other natural ingredients cooked to the consistency of soft taffy) that is applied to the skin and then subsequently removed carrying with it unwanted hair. Unlike wax, which needs to be heated to a high temperature, the sugar paste is applied to the skin at body temperature therefore eliminating the risk of burning. It will also remove dead skin cells leaving the skin soft, silky and healthy. One of the best features is that it is water soluable...meaning if the product accidentally gets anywhere it shouldn't, it simply washes away with water! We all know that is not the case with wax. (I always had to wear my worst pants when I went for waxing because the technician would inevitably drip wax and ultimately ruin them...not so with the sugar paste). There is less chance of redness, rashes, bumps, breakouts and ingrown hairs. I use top-of-the-line skin cleansers, tonics and lotions before and after treatment to ensure these superior results. Virtually everyone returns for periodic maintenance visits. Certified Sugar of the Nile Technicians like myself are professionally trained and educated. They are committed to a high standard of service, helping to make Body Sugaring a regular part of your grooming routine.

Ideally, the hair to be removed needs to be between 1/8" and 1/4" in length. Anything shorter might not be picked up by the sugar paste and anything longer has a tendency to be pulled by the paste as it grabs the hair shaft causing unnecessary discomfort. Is it painful? Yes and No. Anytime hair is yanked from the roots, there will be an element of discomfort. Some areas are simply more sensitive than others. Trust me, I work fast in these areas and the superior results are well worth those brief moments of discomfort.

Tip: you can maintain these superior results if you exfoliate (scrub) your skin after treatment (and on a regular basis) using a loofah or nylon brush.
Worried about bumps, ingrown hairs and breakouts? Try any one of these products. My clients swear by them.
